Markets

Gaming is hot! In general, gaming is booming, whether it’s at home, online or in set environments such as airplanes or hospitals. According to the Casual Games Association, over 200 million people play casual games each month and the market is growing at 20% per annum.

In-Flight Entertainment (IFE)

Over the past decade, DTI Software has established itself as the global leader in developing and supplying in-flight games to over 100 of the world’s top airlines.

Once the airplane door closes, the audience is truly captive and ready to be entertained—be it for short or long-haul trips. In-flight gaming continues to increase each year and is more popular now than ever before. DTI Software offers a wide range of titles and the most diverse catalog on the market.

In addition to its game offering, DTI Software presents a variety of innovative applications enabling passengers to learn, communicate and purchase products while flying. Passengers can obtain information about meals, shop, fill in a survey or consult e-readers, travel guides and ad content.  These applications are a great addition to the IFE system, as well as a potential revenue generator for the airline. These solutions can easily be adapted for other markets.

Since 2007, the percentage of people playing in-flight games has increased over 70% primarily due to the deployment of more robust systems and enhanced gaming options. Airlines are expected to increase their spending on in-flight entertainment by over 30% by 2012.

A wide-range analysis of industry flight data based on 400,000 flights, showed that more than 60% of airline audiences use interactive systems to play in-flight games. Furthermore, audiences played an average of 1 ½ games per flight and spent an average of 47 minutes playing the games.

Interactive Patient Entertainment (IPE)

As hospitals attempt to improve the overall hospitalized patient’s experience, the demand for patient interaction systems is growing. These systems are designed to provide patient access to personalized clinical information such as health records, knowledge specific to the patient’s condition or disease and patient entertainment offerings—all in the patient’s room.

Currently, most patient entertainment offerings are limited to TV and movies, but there is a growing interest to expand entertainment offerings to include high-quality games and other forms of interactive entertainment. This indeed positions DTI Software as an ideal player in the emerging market.

DTI Software is partnering with leading patient entertainment vendors who provide patient interaction systems that integrate clinical and financial information with patient entertainment content. These system vendors provide turnkey systems that can be situated in each patient’s room.

DTI Software works with its partners to integrate DTI Software games seamlessly into the partner system and user experience. DTI Software provides hands-on technical support to partners during system integration and testing, and during hospital integrations; and offers technical support to partners if any problems arise during ongoing installations.
